Cadbury Looks to Consolidate, Improve IT Supply Chain

Cadbury has identified procurement costs as a major target for change aimed at strengthening its business position, according to ComputerWorldUK.
Most significantly, the company plans to cut IT support spending using a two-pronged approach that will a) consolidate support services and b) improve the technology used.
According to the article, Cadbury wants to create “technology centers of excellence” to help
- increase speed and efficiency in product innovation,
- improve time to market, and
- promote faster, streamlined decision-making.
Cadbury, currently facing a hostile takeover bid from Kraft, is looking to dramatically improve its supply chain and other key operations. But, there’s a lesson here for businesses, in general.
After all, any company that wants to successfully compete in today’s complex, global, and increasingly unpredictable business environment, needs updated supply chain strategies that can respond quickly to changing market conditions.
Why? Because technology that improves supply chain agility and alignment creates end-to-end efficiencies, strengthens your core business, and helps you gain competitive advantage.
